Whilst we offer repairs, our services remain focused upon doing a thorough and high quality reconditioning of your bicycle so that it works perfectly for you for a long time. All components used are of the best quality that prevent corrosion, premature wear and failure.
Before work commences, we send you a detailed assessment video of your bicycle so that you can see what work is needed and we explain why it’s needed. We then send you an accurate estimate of costs so that you can decide whether you wish to proceed or not. Book your bike in for its assessment video now.
IMPORTANT – The £20 fee is reimbursed if you proceed with the service following the assessment video.
After every service, your bicycle returns to you with a 6 months warranty on all work done including free adjustments and checks for 6 months.
Our services involve completely stripping your bike down to the frame and rebuilding it again.
It’s the best option for when you might have let things slip a little too long between services, or if you’ve ridden a good number of kilometres since your last service. Conversely, if you’ve left your bike in the shed for too long, it’ll be feeling very neglected and will no doubt sulk when you take it out next…..of course it’s not your legs!
So what’s involved in a service?
We’ll strip your bike down and clean it completely*, (even inside the bottom bracket shell), and get it looking like a shiny bling thing (matt bling thing if you’ve got matt paint).
Cables are a serviceable item so they are always replaced with high quality cables that won’t corrode and are highly resistant to stretch and fraying.
Transmission components removed, cleaned, checked and replaced as necessary.
Bottom brackets are removed and replaced, again these are standard serviceable items.
Transmission components all removed, cleaned, checked, reassembled, indexed and tuned.
Brakes checked, balanced and tuned: – brake fluid and lever reach checked, bite point checked and adjusted, pad contact points checked and adjusted.
Brake bolts tightened to correct torque setting.
Wheels checked for true and damage and adjusted as necessary.
Forks removed and headset checked for corrosion, smooth operation and play.
Chainring bolts tightened to correct torque setting.
Stem bolts tightened to correct torque setting.
Seatpost height recorded, seatpost removed and anti-seize/carbon paste applied if necessary.
Handlebar controls checked for operation and positioning and bolts tightened to correct torque setting.
If you’ve a road bike, we’ll attempt to salvage your bar tape, but often we need to replace cable outers, which requires removing the bar tape. If new bar tape is needed as a consequence we’ll re-wrap your bars for you with a bar tape of your choice if you purchase it from us.
Hubs checked for play and evidence of corrosion and adjusted/repaired as necessary.
Chain is usually replaced along with cassette to guarantee trouble free shifting.
Tyres checked for tears, cuts and perishing. If tyres and tubes require replacing we’ll fit new ones for you. If you use tubeless tyres we’ll replace them for you and apply fresh sealant.
If you run tubeless tyres and they do NOT need replacing, but the sealant DOES need replacing, we’ll charge an additional fee for cleaning any old sealant out of your tyres and replacing with fresh sealant.
As you can see, it’s a very comprehensive service and will make your bike feel all Swish again.
