Servicing - Inner Flow Member

It’s a fine balance isn’t it: keeping your bike in fine-fettle without creaking and clunking noises, and operating properly, whilst being concious of the cost of replacement parts and servicing, and the fact that regular maintenance will make things last longer.

This will help:

  • Spread the costs out

  • Get your bike serviced as many times as you choose

  • Option to includes all the main components that often need replacing (see “Parts Pack” details here)

  • Get up to 20% automatic discounts as a Member on accessories and 10% off components

  • Any additional components that need replacing will be charged separately, and ONLY after gaining your authorisation.

  • Option of collection of your bike from your home or work and have it dropped back there, anywhere in the country.

You simply need to choose whether you want your bike serviced, once, twice or three times during the year.

We’ll get your bike back to as new condition as possible; often better than new!  This is the most popular level of service we offer and basically involves completely stripping your bike down to the frame and rebuilding it again.

It’s the best option for when you might have let things slip a little too long between services, or if you’ve ridden a good number of kilometers since your last service.  Conversely, if you’ve left your bike in the shed for too long, it’ll be feeling very neglected and will no doubt sulk when you take it out next…..of course it’s not your legs!  This service will make your bike feel all loved and valued again. Unfortunately, a bunch of flowers will simply not work.

If the cost of servicing comes to mind, then maybe consider that you likely reach speeds in excess of 40mph on a descent. We’re sure you’d like to feel confident that your bike is not going to let you down on a fast bend. Our goal will be to get it back to as “new condition” as possible.

Here’s some before and after videos of bikes we’ve worked on. We hope it will give you a flavour of the attention to detail we pay to making your bike as good as new again:

Membership automatically includes all the headset and bottom bracket bolt-ons from the Inner Flow service.

So what’s involved in the main annual service?

We’ll clean your bike completely* and get it looking like a shiny bling thing (matt bling thing if you’ve got matt paint).
Cables will be checked and replaced as needed (cables are charged as an extra as each brand and model of groupset may require different versions of cable and they all have different prices.)
Transmission components removed, cleaned, checked and replaced as necessary
Transmission components all reassembled, indexed and tuned
Transmission bolts tightened to correct torque setting
Brakes checked, balanced and tuned: – brake fluid and lever reach checked, bite point checked and adjusted, pad contact points checked and adjusted.
Brake bolts tightened to correct torque setting
Wheels checked.
Forks removed and headset checked for corrosion, smooth operation and play.
If we need to replace your headset we’ll add on the Headset Bolt-on as again, specialist tools and care are needed to do it correctly, especially if you have an integrated headset. It’s worth noting that there are dozens of different headset standards with numerous different diameters, bevel angles and ways of being installed into frame.
Crankset removed and bottom bracket checked for corrosion , smooth operation and seating/position in the BB shell.
If we need to remove your bottom bracket and replace it, we’ll add on the Bottom Bracket Bolt On. Specialist tools are usually needed to do this properly, and it’s vital that it’s done correctly so that your frame is protected and so that you don’t lose energy when you’re powering up those hills!
Crankset re-fitetd and bottom bracket lubricated with appropriate grease.
Chainring bolts tightened to correct torque setting
Stem bolts tightened to correct torque setting
Seatpost height recorded, seatpost removed and anti-seize/carbon paste applied if necessary.
Handlebar controls checked for operation and positioning and bolts tightened to correct torque setting
If you’ve a road bike, we’ll attempt to salvage your bar tape, but often we need to replace cable outers, which requires removing the bar tape. If new bar tape is needed as a consequence we’ll re-wrap your bars for you with a bar tape of your choice if you purchase it from us.
Hubs checked for play and evidence of corrosion. If issues identified then the service will be upgraded to a Degrease PLUS service which includes a Hub service to replace the bearings and reassemble your wheels so that they function wonderfully
Chain lubricated
Tyres checked for tears, cuts and perishing. If tyres and tubes require replacing we’ll fit new ones for you. If you use tubeless tyres we’ll replace them for you and apply fresh sealant.
If you run tubeless tyres and they do NOT need replacing, but the sealant DOES need replacing, we’ll charge an additional fee for cleaning any old sealant out of your tyres and replacing with fresh sealant.

Hardtail mountain bikes will also have their fork seals checked and Full Suspension Mountain bikes will have their bearings and bushes checked.
All your bikes details will be stored in your account area so that we know what component “standards” have been used on your bike to simplify the process next time.
As you can see, it’s a very comprehensive service and will make your bike feel all Spick and Span again.

*Please Note that there is a £25 surcharge for cleaning the bike if it is brought in heavily soiled.
